New Year's Gathering12/27/2021

Let’s Celebrate the New Year!

Do you have any fun traditions for ringing in the New Year? Like, toasting with a glass of bubbly champagne or preparing a special meal to share with your family and friends? Here are two unique traditions we find especially tasty. In the Southern United States, black-eyed peas served on a bed of collard greens are a customary dish for New Year’s supper. The two foods served together represent prosperity and wealth. In Greece, families come together to bake a vasilopita, New Year’s Day cake that has a coin hidden inside. The cake is cut at midnight, and the person who finds the coin in their slice is said to have good luck for the year. We’d love to hear from you. Visit our Facebook page and share your favorite New Year’s traditions. Here’s to 2022 and a wonderful New Year!
